Kevin Tanchanco was born and raised in southern California. His passion for design was fostered at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he dove into courses in both landscape architecture and architecture. After school he began his career in Santa Barbara where he assisted in the design of landscape projects ranging in scale from multi-family residential to university campus design to residential design. Designing landscapes of different scales has allowed him to develop a range of skills as a burgeoning landscape architect.
Kevin is deeply interested in contemporary art and frequents galleries and museums. He endeavors to design the experience of landscape architecture through meaningful design strategies that are sensitive to geographic, cultural and environmental contexts. Interested in the relationship between landscape and architecture, Kevin aims to accentuate the particular sense of place of each site through poetic landscape interventions that mediate the space between buildings and the outside world.
